Stem Cell Transplant
Stem cell therapy, during which a patient’s own stem cells are collected prior to chemotherapy and reinfused after treatment, has been shown to have significant benefits for cancer patients in managing their treatment and immune systems. Baptist Cancer Center has been leading the way on stem cell transplant research in the Mid-South for years, having performed the first transplant procedure to treat scleroderma in the Mid-South successfully in May 2019. Your support of this fund can help extend the progress we’ve made on stem cell transplantation for cancer and other therapies by funding more research, trials and procedures, needed patient support and helping us take a significant step towards finding a cure.
